This Just Sucks

$4.99 to activate 802.11n? That's right. Apple's charging $4.99 to download software that will enable 802.11n on any recent Macs that actually have the 802.11n capabilities built-in. Of course if you buy the $179 new Airport Extreme Base station, the 802.11n activation software is free.

This is just ludicrous. This just seems like a normal software update to me. I hope Apple caves and gets rid of this stupid fee.

Update: The fee is now $1.99 for the upgrade. Better, but still should be free.
