Netflix "Watch Now" Movie Download Service

Netflix launched its new "Watch Now" movie download service today. This is a big deal for Netflix, who ignited the at-home DVD rental market, causing big-box players like Blockbuster to scramble.

The new service is available for no additonal charge, but to Windoze users only. Sorry Mac & iPod fans. No movies for you.

The press release has more details. It's a streaming video and requires a minimum of 1 megabit of bandwidth. I'm a bit skeptical of all streaming media these days - sometimes it's great, and sometimes a 500K GooTube video stops, stutters and disconnects. But maybe the have the buffering and networking worked out.
