Starting a flame war eh? I accept.
Of course osx is going to run better...ON A MACBOOK! The software has been specifically engineered to only work on a specific set of hardware. Windows 7 does have more bullshit bloat but that's Microsoft trying to accompany hundreds of different components. Much of it can be turned off, removed and tweaked with little to no technical knowledge.
I don't know if you've ever installed or run a hackintosh, but it usually runs like shit and nothing works. Still a shitload cheaper than buying a macbook pro from a monetary point of view, but not so much a time expense haha.
Which brings me to the next point.
OSX does have a history of being a somewhat more reliable OS than windows (ahem...vista). Really though, you're paying a high price for mid-range hardware, nice case design, and a shiny expensive version of *BSD. I'll pass.
Lastly, they do have high profits. Does this have anything to do with the fact that their cheapest laptop is like a grand and their cheapest computer existing is like 400 bucks?
